The NATIGP aim to:

·        Facilitate the practice based training of general practitioners.

·        Establish recognition of and foster the unique role of GP trainers in the training of general practitioners.

·        Promote the development of high quality in-practice GP training.

·        Represent the aims and views of trainers in general practice on all issues relating to training of general practitioners.

·        Update trainers on issues relating to GP training.

·        Provide a body for consultation with GP trainers on all issues related to GP training.

·        Seek representation at all relevant bodies that have input in the training of GPs.

·        Participate with the IMO in negotiations on behalf of trainers.
